Travis Peak Community Gumbo Potluck

Mark your calendars and plan to attend a gumbo potluck for the Travis Peak Community. It will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026. We will start around 5:00 PM at the church building located at Singleton Bend Road and RR1431. Fix up a batch of your signature gumbo and bring a pot of it. If you don’t have gumbo, bring the fixings to go along with gumbo Desserts are welcome too. Rumor has it that there will be some homemade ice cream present.

Bring your choice of instrument along. We will have a session of picking and grinning. There will be a sound system available if you want to bring your microphone or electric instrument to plug in. Friday, 2/20, around 6:00 PM Kent will host a jam session if you would like to come and get familiar with the folks singing on Saturday night. Bring a sack of food for dinner or eat before you come. Anyone is welcome to come to the jam session and just listen.

This is your time to shine with your gumbo and performance and enjoy the music.

Tomorrow morning’s Bible study, service and monthly potluck luncheon are cancelled due to the current flooding around the Travis Peak area. RR 1431 is closed in both directions from Singleton Bend Road. The bridge over Cow Creek on 1431 washed out and at Post Oak Creek the roadway is damaged beyond use. RR1431 is closed just west of the Tessera Lakeside entrance. Hopefully repairs will happen quickly and the road will reopen soon. Email and the Travis Peak church private Facebook page will be used to keep everyone updated with the status of our services/Bible studies. Please check your email, or Facebook for news. Everyone stay safe.

Travis Peak Community Italian Potluck

There are plans to have an Italian themed potluck on Saturday, April 12^th, at the church building at the corner of Singleton Bend Rd and 1431. Festivities will begin around 6:00 PM. Bring your signature Italian food. You should get an Evite from Scott that will give essential details. If you don’t get an Evite, please RSVP to kentsingleton@hotmail.com and let Kent know you are coming. If you need any other details, email Kent with your questions. This is a great year to be a part of the Travis Peak Community! Of course, any and every year is a great year to be a part of the Travis Peak Community!

July 4th Ice Cream Social

Wednesday, July 4th at 7 pm there will be an ice cream social and hot dogs at the building. A grill will be provided. Bring hot dogs, sides, drinks and ice cream.

Ladies Bible Class Christmas Potluck

Wednesday, December 13th, the Ladies Bible Class will have it’s Christmas potluck and secret sister reveal. The lesson for that day will be “She was a Real Prize”, chapter 9 in Women of Deliverance. This will be our last meeting before going on Christmas break. We will return on Wednesday, January 3, 2018!

Leadership Training for Christ Awards

Our Youth who attended LTC over the Easter Weekend will present their projects to the congregation on the first Sunday in May. This is a time for everyone to see what they worked on for several months. The individual awards will be handed out after the presentations. Please stay after potluck and support our Youth!

Plan on staying for lunch this Sunday, August 7th after morning worship. There is a short devotional after our monthly potluck luncheon and no 6 pm evening service.

This Wednesday, August 3rd the 7 pm adult class will be finishing the study of Joseph. An introduction into the next study topic will be presented to the class if time allows.

Sunday, August 14th we will start a new video series, Daring Faith by Randy Harris, at 6 pm in the auditorium. This 12-week lesson will focus on meeting Jesus in the book of John. Let Glen know if you wish to order a study book to go along with the lessons.

The shopping list for the pantry for the month of August is ravioli, green beans, pudding cups, and vegetable beef soup (family size). There is a box in the foyer for your donations.

Congratulations Andrea and Allen!

In lieu of Potluck, there will be a wedding pre-ception at the building. Brisket will be provided but please bring sides, dessert, and salads. The wedding will be held after Potluck at 2:30 at Camp Hensel on the Creek at the Dock. Instead of wedding gifts, the couple asks for donations to Laura’s Cabin through Camp Hensel.

Once again, congratulations to the happy couple, and we hope to see everyone there!

Sunday afternoon, March 27th, our youth and sponsors will be returning from the LTC convention in Dallas.
Sunday, April 3rd, is our monthly potluck luncheon. After the meal LTC participants will make their presentations and receive their awards.
Also Sunday, April 3rd, Bill Colwell with World Bible School will be our guest speaker. He will be speaking to us about World Bible School and the effects it’s had throughout the world.
April pantry items are spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, canned spinach, instant pudding, canned milk, chicken noodle soup (family size) and peanut butter.
April 8 & 9 (Friday and Saturday) we will have a community garage sale. If you would like to participate by selling items or have any questions, contact Terry Gordon.

Our New Year’s Eve Party will be Thursday, December 31st starting at 8:00 PM and going until midnight. If Camp Hensel does fireworks we will watch the show from the church parking lot. Bring games, snacks and drinks to share.
Sunday, January 3^rd will be the first Sunday of 2016. We will have our monthly potluck luncheon. After the meal and devotional there will be a condensed LTC practice session. There will be no evening service.
The Wednesday Ladies Bible study will resume on January 6, 2016.
Please check the lists on the bulletin board in the foyer for changes of address and to either sign up or decline the subscriptions for Power for Today, Gospel Minutes and the Christian Chronicle.
