The Travis Peak Community Garage Sale will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 17th and 18th from 10am-4pm at the church building. Funds from the garage sale this year will be used for the Central Texas Children’s Home. Donations can be dropped off at the church building on Thursday, April 16th after 9 am. Annual Taco Breakfast

The annual “Breakfast Taco Time” for the Travis Peak Community is on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Kent will have things ready around 8:00 AM at the church building fellowship area. Come and put together the best breakfast taco you have ever eaten because you made it the way you like it. Only bring your appetite because Kent will have just about anything you would want to put on a breakfast taco. If there is not something there that you would like to have, let him know. Please RSVP to kentsingleton@hotmail.com for this one in order that there is enough but not too much overkill.

Travis Peak Community Gumbo Potluck

Mark your calendars and plan to attend a gumbo potluck for the Travis Peak Community. It will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026. We will start around 5:00 PM at the church building located at Singleton Bend Road and RR1431. Fix up a batch of your signature gumbo and bring a pot of it. If you don’t have gumbo, bring the fixings to go along with gumbo Desserts are welcome too. Rumor has it that there will be some homemade ice cream present.

Bring your choice of instrument along. We will have a session of picking and grinning. There will be a sound system available if you want to bring your microphone or electric instrument to plug in. Friday, 2/20, around 6:00 PM Kent will host a jam session if you would like to come and get familiar with the folks singing on Saturday night. Bring a sack of food for dinner or eat before you come. Anyone is welcome to come to the jam session and just listen.

This is your time to shine with your gumbo and performance and enjoy the music.

Special Thanksgiving Eve Service

This Thanksgiving Eve (November 26th) there will be a special service of thanksgiving at 7 pm at the building. Mid-week Bible Study Cancelled

August 6th and 13th the Wednesday evening Bible study will be cancelled for those two days. The class will resume August 20th with Ezra 6:1-22, “Completion of the Temple”.

Workday at Hensel Camp

There will be a workday at Hensel Camp Saturday, July 19th starting at 7 am to help clean up debris and materials from the Cow Creek flood. You will need gloves, and work clothes. The roadway on RR 1431 at Post Oak Creek has been temporarily repaired. As of yesterday afternoon late one lane was opened and more work will be done this week to get both lanes drivable. We will be having our mid-week Bible study as usual at 7 pm at the building. The class will also on be on Zoom if you can’t make it in person. Our next lesson in our mid-week Bible study is from Haggai 1:1-2:23, “Choosing God’s Priorities” this Wednesday, July 9^th.

All Activities on Sunday, July 6 Cancelled

Tomorrow morning’s Bible study, service and monthly potluck luncheon are cancelled due to the current flooding around the Travis Peak area. RR 1431 is closed in both directions from Singleton Bend Road. The bridge over Cow Creek on 1431 washed out and at Post Oak Creek the roadway is damaged beyond use. RR1431 is closed just west of the Tessera Lakeside entrance. Hopefully repairs will happen quickly and the road will reopen soon. Email and the Travis Peak church private Facebook page will be used to keep everyone updated with the status of our services/Bible studies. Please check your email, or Facebook for news. New Mid-week Bible Study Starting June 4th

The new series that will start June 4th is a continuation of sorts from the end of 2 Chronicles. Ezra actually begins with the decree from Cyrus that ends 2 Chronicles. Ezra, Esther and Nehemiah were written during what is known as the Post-Exilic Period, that is, the hundred years or so that follows the return from exile in Babylon that began about 537 BC. The Post-Exilic Period (537 to 430 BC) includes rebuilding the Temple and walls of Jerusalem. Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi were also prophesying in this time period and will be mentioned in this study.
